Fluval Max-Flo 2400 Submersible Pond Filter & Waterfall Pump

The Fluval Max-Flo 2400 is a submersible pond pump built for moving water through external filters, waterfalls, streams and watercourses. With a maximum output of 2,400L/h, it provides dependable circulation for freshwater garden and fish ponds.

The Max-Flo design is intended to move moderately debris-loaded pond water. Suitable suspended solids can pass through the pump and continue towards an external filter instead of collecting immediately around a fine pre-filter.

For Pond Filtration

Used as the circulation pump in a filtration system, the Max-Flo moves pond water and suitable debris towards the external filter for mechanical and biological processing. This makes it a practical choice for fish ponds where consistent turnover and waste transport are important.

For Waterfalls and Streams

The pump can also supply pond waterfalls and watercourses. Remember that the stated 2,400L/h figure is the maximum output. Actual flow will reduce as vertical lift, hose length, fittings and filter resistance increase.

Maintenance

Inspect the outer cage, intake, impeller, impeller chamber and pond hose regularly. Reduced flow is often caused by accumulated debris or plumbing restriction rather than pump failure.

Choosing the Correct Pump

Consider pond volume, required turnover, vertical lift, hose diameter, plumbing length and the resistance created by filtration equipment when selecting a pump. Allow for flow loss once the pump is installed.
